Fowles Leads USAB

In a game full of stars, Chicago Sky center Sylvia Fowles shined the brightest in what was billed as the WNBA vs. USA Basketball: Stars at the Sun.

The third-year center was named the game's MVP as she led USA Basketball with 23 points and 8 rebounds en route to a 99-72 win over the WNBA All-Stars Saturday afternoon at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.

Fowles saw 16 minutes of playing time in which she shot 9-of-11 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. She was subbed out with 3:11 left in the third quarter and would not return to the game

She was equally effective on the glass on both ends of the floor grabbing half of her rebounds on offense.

In a season where she's often carried the Sky, Fowles should have cemented her position in the WNBA MVP discussion after carrying Team USA today.
