Tuesday, June 29 vs. San Antonio Silver Stars

The Seattle Storm is proud to recognize the efforts of local non-profit organizations in the Puget Sound community. Each game night this summer, the Storm will shine the spotlight on a featured non-profit, its positive impact within our community and ways in which Storm fans can become involved.

Detlef Schrempf Foundation
After 16 years in the NBA, Detlef Schrempf has now achieved 17 years as a community philanthropist, raising nearly $10,000,000 for children’s charities in the Northwest. Detlef and his wife, Mari formed the Detlef Schrempf Foundation with a desire to give back to a community that has given them so much. Their message is, "Service is the rent we pay for living. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time." Marion Wright Edelman

On June 29, The Detlef Schrempf Foundation is proud to partner with the Blaze Girls Basketball Teams of Lynnwood as the Community Spotlight of the night.

The Blaze has four teams at the 6-8 grade high school levels. The main goal is to expose players to the next level....winning and losing against older, stronger and faster teams build their on-court character and consistently improve basketball skills. The fact that they play up a grade level and choose the most competitive tournaments is why The Blaze teams are recognized among the best in the Northwest. And perhaps someday you’ll see a few of these players in the WNBA!

The Detlef Schrempf Foundation supports The Blaze and other non-profit organizations that provide hope, care and assistance to children and families in the Northwest. To date, they have raised nearly $10 million for children’s charities.
